Oh what’s that? A typo? My apologies, the title should read: “I wish this could be brought to you by smell-o-vision”
But hey, let’s be real. If I actually came up with smell-o-vision… I probably wouldn’t still be looking for employment, but I would definitely still be writing this blog. I mean, come on!! A food blog in a world with smell-o-vision!?!? Unreal.
This is the simplest of salsas. Seasonal, fresh, pretty. An absolute delight to smell eat. Straight from the spoon.
I made a batch, er, 6 cups the other night and we easily could have eaten it in one sitting if we allowed ourselves. It was gone early in the next day. And I promptly made a second batch.
Garlic is involved. Cilantro too. No hots – I don’t like hot peppers. At all.
I’m sure if you wanted to add jalepeno to you liking it would be fine.
Just don’t tell me that you want to omit the cilantro. If that’s the case, we should just end it here. This probably isn’t going to work. But we can totally still be friends.
Fresh Tomato Salsa (makes 6 cups)
- 5 large tomatos (small dice)
- 1/4 medium red onion (finely diced)
- 2-3 large cloves of garlic (minced)
- 1/3 cup loosely packed cilantro leaves (chopped)
- Juice of 1 1/2 limes
- S&P to taste
Mix well and enjoy! The flavor will be better if you let sit for an hour or two.
Alternatively, you can put all the ingredients except the tomatoes in a food processor and give it a quick whirl to make for less work.
